1. About these terms#

These terms apply when you use the Shard plugin for Roblox Studio and its online service (“Shard”). Shard is run by [OPERATOR NAME / ENTITY]. By using Shard you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

Shard is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Roblox Corporation. You must also follow the Roblox Terms of Use when you use Studio.

2. Beta#

Shard is in public beta. Features, models and limits may change or be removed at any time. It may be slow, offline or wrong. Do not rely on it for anything critical.

3. Who can use Shard#

You must be at least [AGE] years old, or have permission from a parent or guardian. [Set with legal counsel.]

4. Accounts#

  • You can use Shard as a guest or with an account.
  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • One network can create at most [2] accounts. Do not create accounts to get around limits.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

5. Limits#

Each plan has usage limits. During the beta, every plan has the same limits: 10,000 messages and 10,000 web searches or page reads per day, and the same per month (rolling 24-hour and 30-day windows). Every request counts, including those on your own API key or a connected account. Each model step counts as one message, including agent steps and automatic chat compaction. We may change limits with notice in the plugin.

6. AI providers and who pays#

Shard sends your requests to the AI provider you choose.

  • Your own API key. You pay the provider directly. You must follow their terms. You are responsible for charges on your key.
  • Connected accounts (Codex, Claude Code). Shard uses your ChatGPT or Claude account through a relay we run. You must follow OpenAI’s or Anthropic’s terms, including any rules about how your account may be used. Their plan limits apply. [Legal: check that relaying a personal subscription is allowed by each provider’s terms.]
  • Shard hosted models. When available, they use your plan’s included allowance, if any, and then credits on your Shard account. Credits can’t be bought yet. [Add credit, refund and expiry terms before any paid credits are sold. No prices are set yet.]

We are not responsible for the providers’ services, outages, charges or outputs.

7. Your content#

  • Your scripts, places and messages stay yours.
  • You give us permission to process them only to run Shard: to send them to the provider you chose and return the answer.
  • You must have the right to share what you send.

8. AI output and changes to your place#

  • AI output can be wrong, insecure or copied from elsewhere. Check it before you publish.
  • Shard can edit scripts, create and change instances, and run code in your Studio session. You decide whether to keep the changes. Save or back up your place before large tasks.
  • You are responsible for what you publish to Roblox, including that it follows Roblox’s rules.

9. Acceptable use#

Do not use Shard to:

  • break the law, the Roblox Terms of Use, or an AI provider’s terms;
  • make content that is harmful, hateful, sexual involving minors, or that harasses people;
  • make malware, exploits for games you don’t own, or tools to cheat or steal accounts;
  • attack, overload, reverse engineer or get around the limits or security of Shard’s service;
  • share, sell or resell access to Shard or to someone else’s account.

10. Feedback#

If you send feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.

11. Ending use#

You can stop using Shard at any time and ask us to delete your account at [CONTACT EMAIL]. We may stop offering Shard, or part of it, at any time. [State notice period for paid credits, if any.]

12. No warranty#

Shard is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

13. Limitation of liability#

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost places, lost profits, provider charges, or indirect damages from using Shard. [Set a liability cap with legal counsel.]

14. Changes to these terms#

We may update these terms. We will post the new version and update the date. For important changes we will tell you in the plugin. Using Shard after a change means you accept it.
